Our registered and constituted charity delivers this
independant development programme using volunteers from clubs across Gloucestershire.
The philosophy behind coaching the girls programme
is "progress through challenge". Challenge the players to recognise their potential to pursue it in all they
do by providing an environment which enables them to achieve it. Challenge ourselves not to accept or deliver second best.
Challenge ignorance, bigotry and inequity through high quality delivery and performance.
Our Charity Objects
are to support grassroots rugby by helping to fund and volunteer deliver a rugby development programme for girls rugby.
Players travel from Bath, Bristol, Wiltshire, Forest of Dean, Oxford, Ledbury and Ross on Wye and benefit from a
quality level of coaching using games sense delivery more exciting and unpredicatable than drill based coaching.
These efforts help provide an additional rugby development opportunity for any club players,
but also and more importantly helps sustain clubs (especially those accomodating girls at mini level covered by RFU,
but with no Under 15 or 18 age groups to bridge the gap to the adult game). With fewer players it makes it difficult
to retain them in the sport, especially through lack of match opportunities (schools in particularily). This is an essential
aspect of the sport, especially, if a player wishes to progress on the England Player Pathway.
We also accomodate players 'outside of the system' through the inclusion which the sport offers
and also help those who have yet to find the confidence to walk into and join a local club.
Matches
are the most exhilerating element of the sport and most matches are delivered through Players' Clubs. There are some charity
fund-raising or training matches held in order to accomodate those clubs who are unable to field a team. By pooling
players gives all players the thrill and experience to keep them in the game.
With
our volunteer camarderie, we help build confidence and encourage players to be 'the best that they can be' not only
in the sport, but throughout their life.
The development programme provides
an opportunity for players to meet new friends from different clubs and schools. A key
focus of our charity during such development times is for the youth to receive free rugby coaching.
We thank the few partners and local sponsors who have gifted their support in the past to help create
the success of our local rugby players, and to help sustain local clubs for the sport as a whole.
